Medical Acupuncturist vs.  Licensed Acupuncturists

Medical acupuncturists DO NOT have the same training as Licensed Acupuncturists?  Medical acupuncturists are chiropractors, dentists and MDs who have taken a very, very short introductory course in acupuncture (usually 300hours) and have been authorized to "practice" acupuncture through their own governing board.

Licensed Acupuncturists in the state of CA have to complete a rigorous 4 year program of acupuncture and herbal traning.  They are licensed by the CA acupuncture board.

If you were having heart surgery, would you like for your doctor to have 300hrs of training? Or 4 years of training?
