- The sensation of Qi is different depending on the location of the needle and disposition of the patient
- Acupuncture needles are NOT hypodermic needles (needles used to give shots).
- 10 acupuncture needles can fit into the hole of a hypodermic needle.
- We only use sterilized disposable needles
- The initial insertion of the needle may feel like a tiny prick, a pinch or nothing at all
- Once the needle is in the body, the goal is to access the Qi so it can be manipulated
- Qi sensation can be heavy, warm, dull, radiating, 'walking' slightly electrical
- The experience should be comfortable. Many patients fall asleep during their treatment.
